The nights are long, the days are short, and the horrifying monster that lives in your closet is getting hungry. That means only one thing: it is time to reflect upon the year and what you have done, where you have been, all that good stuff. Best get that done now, because hungry monster and soon the night’s will be long enough to allow him to freely roam the house. Gather together with your loved ones, and tell some reminisce about the year, that keeps the foul creature at bay.
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN THIS YEAR:
Where have you been? Do you remember that trip you took? That time you got lost, and your car died, and you found yourself hitch-hiking to the nearest service station to try and salvage the trip? Maybe that last one is more specific to me, but regardless of whether you think you have had a particularly exciting year, you have at least one good story to share. One adventure to share, whether that be a foolish midnight hitch-hiking adventure or a more thoroughly planned excursion, you have done something. I know it.
WHO HAVE YOU LOVED THIS YEAR:
That’s the funny thing about December, isn’t it? It’s the time when the memories of everyone we cared about come rushing back. It’s when we pull out the box of grandpa’s things from the storage unit. We look through what he left us. The broken pocket watches he always carried that never worked; the medals he earned in the war; the letters he wrote to our grandma. Whether or not we always show the lessons he taught us, the importance of love and family, this month we honor him. Or if you have happier stories, you should probably go with those.
WHO HAS JOINED YOUR FAMILY:
This year, my family was blessed by the birth of a little girl. I know everyone says that their baby is the cutest baby, but my niece really is the best baby. She is going to be walking soon, and we all think she will be able to walk before she can crawl. Not because she is super smart, but because she somehow hasn’t figured out that her legs can do that. This December will be her first, and that is a precious thing. This December, we instill in her all the things we want her to be; we show her all the things that it means to be a part of our family.
