If you binge-watched Netflix’s Tidying Up with Marie Kondo like the rest of us, you might be painfully aware of how little joy your home is currently sparking. Maybe the rooms are cluttered with items you don’t need, the décor is outdated, or the interior is just plain ol’ messy.

Regardless of the reason, it’s time to turn your discouragement into motivation–especially since spring is right around the corner! And yes, we saw that eye roll you just made. But trust us, you’ll feel lighter when your dwelling is clutter-free and sparklingly clean.

To help you out, we’ve compiled a spring cleaning list especially for our readers. Keep scrolling down the page and we’ll show you how to declutter your entire home.

Declutter Room-by-Room

In our experience, tackling one room at a time is the best way to tidy up your whole house. Otherwise, by battling against every room at once, you risk feeling overwhelmed and burnt out before you even begin! So, let’s get into it:

•   Wipe off the light fixtures, on top of cabinets, and the cabinet shelves

•   Clean your oven, stovetop, and the inside of your fridge, along with your microwave and dishwasher (if you own them)

•   Disinfect the counters, backsplash, and kitchen sink

•   Throw out expired food in your cupboards, fridge, and freezer, and then organize the items that remain

•   Discard any chipped dishes or broken utensils

•   Sharpen your knives

•   Vacuum and mop the floor

Bathrooms

•   Deep-clean the toilet, bathtub, and tiles, including the grot

•   Organize your bathroom cabinet and vanity, and throw out any expired products

•   Wipe down countertops, faucets, and mirror

•   Dust your toilet paper holder

•   Wash your shower curtain, its liner, and your bathmat, or replace if moldy

 •  Wash your mattress cover and pillow shams

•   Vacuum and rotate the mattresses

•   Wipe down the dressers, nightstands, closet doors, bed frames, and light switches
