This is a RAVE review for Adam, who is the General Manager at the iStorage in Evanston. We are in the process of sorting and moving things out of our mother's storage unit after 12 years sitting idle. This is a huge undertaking for our family and we were all feeling quite overwhelmed. But Adam helped us tremendously. He met us with a smile, asked how he could help and talked us through every step of the process and answered any and all questions we had with grace and patience. He had an extremely professional and kind demeanor and instantly put us all at ease. He would check in on us periodically to see if we needed help or to give us words of encouragement. He truly made us feel that this gigantic and emotional task was possible. Adam is the gold star example of what a good manager and leader looks like. You are very lucky to have him as an employee. This is the third time in 10 years we have used this storage location. competitively priced. It is a storage facility, not fancy, but quite functional. Having a service oriented manager was Great!! Over the years, I've had multiple issues with my information being lost, being charged late fees for system issues on the iStorage side, etc. But the new management/owners have really turned things around. I completed the rental process online, which was easy enough. However, the customer service from the man working at the front desk was really superb. I didn't catch his name, but he was very friendly and helpful and had a great demeanor about him. A breath of fresh air compared to prior experiences at different storage rental companies.

I have had a great deal of experience with storage companies on the North Shore and elsewhere, and this location, managed by Nick Murphy, is far and away top notch. While there are numerous benefits like a convenient location, clean lockers, and easy access to units, it’s Nick’s professionalism and TLC that makes the experience exceptional. There’s nothing fun or sexy about moving & paying for personal and/or business items to be in storage, so having a pleasant experience from start to finish takes the pain out of an otherwise icky ordeal.

NICK is fabulous! He helped me get everything set up over the phone for our unit and was super friendly and detailed. I feel confident that our storage contents will be secure and that, when we come on the property to access the unit, it will be a safe, positive experience. This is because of Nick's leadership and outstanding customer service. He gave me the direct line to the Evanston location and followed up with a personal email after we completed our transaction. I wish I could give more than five stars for Nick! Thank you!

The rental process was quick and easier than expected. The units are nice and staff is extremely helpful. Nick worked with me start to finish, and made sure I had everything I needed. It's a really well-run storage facility! I like that the pricing is competitive, and the location is convenient. It is rainy and cold in Evanston right now (February), but inside everything is dry and at a comfortable temperature. I also must give the property manager, Nick, for being a great listener and easy to work with. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for storage.

Nick, one of the on-site managers for the rental office, is the best! Courteous, professional, answered all of my questions and made sure I was happy with the storage unit I leased. The leased units are clean, temp-controlled, well lit and it's overall a safe environment. The only negative I have had with iStorage Evanston is that sometimes the rental office is closed even during their official posted hours---I think they are having a problem getting good staff to fulfill all of their official office hours. This does NOT affect electronic access to gates and doors, but it can be a hassle when one is first setting up a lease and an account.

Great location for Northwestern University students. HOWARD in the office is awesome! He was so helpful during our first few days! 5 Stars for Howard & Facilities. Phone lines, however, need improvement! What appears to be a local number is an automated line and almost impossible to get through to a human...

I had to go here late in the day and it turns out it was about 25 minutes before closing. I was assisting my mother transition to a larger unit and Alante was more than eager to assist. The Wife and I have been storing here for years. The site has had alot of problems in the past but the past few months things have been so much better. They did have a mouse problam due to people leaving the doors open but I have personally seen jose go up to them explain that the door can not be maintained open. Jose has done a amazing job explaining to us what he is doing to controle the mice issue and we are happy that he is actually doing something about it unlike other storage company's who simply do not care we would highly recommend extra space to everyone.

Milo, the store representative/manager at the counter today, was efficient and wonderfully helpful, and answered all my questions about the unit and moving stuff. Even though it was a busy afternoon and he was administrating the front desk on his own (the second representative/manager was not there), he did a great job attending to multiple customers. The facility is clean, spacious, and well-maintained.

Melissa Zamojcin is a wonderful employee (at your Evanston location). I called a few times and her phone manner was very pleasant and helpful. On one trip I asked her to open the ramp door so I could park my car near my locker. Again she was very helpful and pleasant. But the most amazing thing was the day after I left she did a walk through and noticed that I did not slide the lock bar all the way - so that my locker could be opened by anyone. She called me right away. I gave her my padlock combination and she opened my locker, sent me a picture of my contents, and then properly locked the door. I was so pleased. And luckily nothing had been stolen. All of that is above and beyond what many others would have done. Melissa cares. She has a good energy level. ES Storage is lucky to have her. Thank you.

Melissa was incredible offering personalized and immediate service. She forewarned me we may be interrupted by a customer who had scheduled to meet with her (as I had not). She gave me odeas of increasing or decreasing space needs and minimizing costs. I never experienced a sales pitch, only possibilities. Very smooth process. Very kind people. My only criticism was the fact that a few boxes were left in the storage unit and it had an unpleasant smell.

Penny was awesome she took great care of me and made the process quick and easy. The prices are great the customer service is fantastic. If you get lucky enough to get Penny as the Assistant Manager helping you then you will be well taken care of.

This was our first time renting a storage unit and Gabriel made the process easy and pleasant. The building is really clean with easy access in and out. I called the 800 number initially to "reserve" a space. The phone rep was able to authorize the "web" rate although I had called in because I had a few questions before I officially reserved the space. She was able to then call Gabriel and let him know an approximate time that we would be arriving to finalize the lease and start moving our stuff in. This worked out great, as we only had to wait about 60 seconds for Gabriel to get back to the front office and unlock it. Great price too.

Victor was great! Very informative and so polite. Nice clean space. But Victor needs help! There should be at least two people working. He was on lunch and we had to stand outside in the cold.

Extra Space Storage was great! They keep the storage spaces very clean unlike a lot of other storage companies we've used in the past. Moved some items in today. Denise was extremely professional and helpful. Everything is clean and the facility is new. My boyfriend and I felt good about leaving our things there, and they supplied everything we might need (carts, a strong lock for the unit, etc) I'd specifically recommend Extra Space to women who might be in and out of the storage facility alone. The atmosphere feels safe and friendly - awesome female-run business!

Used Extra Space for a few months this summer storing a vehicle trailer. Communication and service were excellent; move-in and move-out were handled professionally by Denise who keeps the place running. Was always there to help and take care of requests as needed. What sets the Evanston Extra Space storage facility apart is their excellent staff. Particularly, I have worked with Denise. She goes above and beyond with customer service to help make the storage process as seamless as possible. Her demeanor on the phone and in person is always cheerful and motivated to be helpful with the process. On one occasion, when I had to sign paperwork at another location, those employees were not nearly as impressive with their customer service until they got on the phone with Denise to coordinate efforts. When they witnessed how helpful and courteous she was, they hung up the phone and presented a whole new attitude. She is a wonderful role model for other staff. Other than that, the facility seemed clean and in order. There were carts available and everything was as you would expect at a storage facility. The real gem of this place is Denise. Fantastic experience. Just finished my rental there because I've moved out of state, and they were perfect from beginning to end. The friendliest people ever, I spoke mainly with Diane - she knew me by name from day 1 and was always asking about how was I doing, how the unit was going, etc. I actually feel a bit bad for leaving they were so great!

Great prices, clean, climate-controlled units -this place checked all our boxes and then some (friendly, helpful staff, plus free lock, boxes, and use of their truck). It's a family business and the people who work there seem like long-time employees, so it feels good supporting them, too.
